Pasta People: How Atelier Saucier's Founders are Resetting the Textile Industry with Sustainability as the Centerpiece

When you look at a table set with Atelier Saucier’s sharply designed linens, there’s an immediate spark of recognition. You instantly know (without knowing) that it’s Atelier Saucier from the bold colorways, playful border stitching, and the considered texture of each textile.

Since 2019, Atelier Saucier founders Nikki Stone and Staci Inspektor have been disrupting the tablescape space with that intentioned approach. Driven by the brand’s foundational commitment to sustainability, all the textiles in their portfolio are responsibly-sourced, rescued, repurposed, and locally-made in their Los Angeles studio. But beyond their constructional integrity, each piece also has serious personality.

There’s a genuine warmth and levity to an Atelier Saucier-dressed table. When talking about a dream dinner party, that’s the table where you want to be seated – ideally sandwiched between Nikki and Staci, two best friends who found their distinct way to positively impact their corner of the industry. Yes, they’re the consummate professional party hosts who are making every occasion special, but more importantly, they’re making every occasion meaningful.

Over here in pasta land, it’s our hope that the spirit that inspired our collaboration with Atelier Saucier (along with Ciao Pappy) for an Italifornia® Pasta Night Bundle also inspires similar moments of connection in your home this fall and winter. For more insight into why we’re so stoked to be teaming up with Nikki and Staci, read on for their turn in our Pasta People hot seat.

1. Atelier Saucier was born out of the ultimate “meet-cute” moment when the two of you connected at a mutual friend’s party in Los Angeles and knew some day you’d create a brand together. Were there any other ideas that you considered before you landed on the vision for Atelier Saucier?

Nikki: We always knew we wanted to build a brand that blended our backgrounds in fashion and hospitality. We actually had the name before we even had the product — the spark came when a friend opening a zero-waste restaurant asked for help sourcing sustainable tabletop decor. After realizing how hard it was to find, we turned to our Los Angeles resources and decided to make the linens ourselves. By late 2019, we launched our e-shop, offering our Collection both direct-to-consumer and wholesale.

Since then, our mission has remained the same: to create timeless, beautifully crafted table linens made from sustainable materials. Today, we have expanded beyond the napkin to a full suite of entertaining essentials — from custom tablecloths to our signature hosting accessory, the Les Trois Napkin Holder.

2. What inspires your designs and colorways?

Staci: We draw endless inspiration from fashion, architecture, and the city we live in, Los Angeles! Each of our Collections is crafted from surplus, premium fabrics sourced from local fashion houses — ensuring that no two napkin styles are ever exactly alike. We have a deep love for reclaimed textiles and distinctive textures, from luxe linens and rich cottons to fresh denims and soft, sun-washed chambrays.

3. Walk us through your “Shift Notes.” What’s a day-in-the-life like for both of you in your roles?

Nikki: No two days are ever the same — which is part of the magic. I usually start with an extra strong coffee and a scroll through our previous days’ sales and marketing performance. From there, I’m toggling between the creative and the analytical: checking in with our paid advertising team on campaign strategy, reviewing budgets, and planning upcoming launches or collaborations. I love being in the details of how we present ATELIER SAUCIER to the world — from refining our messaging to mapping out new marketing moments. The afternoons are often filled with calls, brainstorming sessions, a few deep dives into spreadsheets, and perhaps fulfilling an online order or two for balance!

Staci: My days are a blend of creativity, business development, and managing the flow of production. As a design house manufacturing all of our goods in our Los Angeles Studio, each day shifts depending on what needs the most attention — managing orders, keeping the sewing room moving, maintaining materials, and supporting our team. When we are developing a new Collection, I focus on creating mood boards, sourcing materials, and producing samples. I also carve out time for creative development — collaborating on upcoming campaigns, product launches, planning marketing calendars, working with clients on custom projects, and responding to new business opportunities.

4. What album is playing when you’re entertaining?

Staci: Our favorite ‘album’ when entertaining isn’t just one — we love creating a shared playlist and passing the phone around the table so everyone can add a song. It keeps the energy fresh all night long, and it’s always fun trying to guess who added which track!

5. We always ask our Pasta People to share their go-to pasta dish. What’s in your current rotation and what linens would you pair with it?

Staci: My go-to Pasta Dish is on a weekly rotation! I love to make Spaghetti Bolognese with farmers market fresh pasta + produce! Currently, I have my table set-up with a Picante Table Runner and Beach Ball Napkins.

Nikki: My all-time favorite pasta preparation is Bucatini Carbonara with fresh peas + crispy pancetta. It always delivers the perfect mix of creamy, salty and a kick of pepper! Our Santa Fe Napkins are a beautiful linens pairing to enjoy with this divine dish.
